Trans-Resveratrol (trans-3, 5, 4'-trihydroxystilbene) in Qualia NAD+ is usually just called resveratrol. It is a stilbenoid, a type of natural polyphenol found in plants. Resveratrol has been the subject of thousands of pre-clinical and clinical research studies. It is best known for supporting healthy aging functions, and for supporting metabolism, heart health, immune health, and cognition.* Resveratrol is a defense compound that plants make more of when exposed to environmental stressors. It toughens them up, making them more resistant to stress.
Magnesium (from Aquamin® MG)in Qualia NAD+. Magnesium is one of the most abundant minerals in the body and plays a vital role in supporting the function of all living cells. It’s used in more than 300 enzymes. ATP (i.e., cellular energy) occurs complexed with magnesium, so all enzymes utilizing ATP require magnesium to support their activity. ATP production, particularly through mitochondrial processes, promotes greater NAD+ turnover (the continuous use and recycling of NAD+).*
Coffeeberry® in Qualia NAD+ is made from organic coffee fruits, which are often called coffee cherries. Like cherries, coffee plants produce soft red fruits surrounding a pit or hard seed. The seed (or coffee "bean") is roasted to make coffee. But it’s the fruit that is being used to make Coffeeberry®. Similar to many fruits, coffee cherries are high in polyphenols. And like coffee beans, they also contain caffeine. Caffeine has been found to activate AMPK, a key energy-sensing enzyme that plays a significant role in promoting NAD+ biosynthesis.*
B-Complex Vitamins (from Saccharomyces cerevisiae culture) in Qualia NAD+ is an inactivated yeast that provides all eight B vitamins (and thus 8 ingredients within the Qualia NAD+ formula): thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), pantothenic acid (B5), pyridoxine (B6), biotin (B7), folic acid (B9), and cobalamin (B12). B vitamins have essential roles in cellular metabolism and energy production. Every B vitamin is either a cofactor or a precursor of a cofactor for a key metabolic process. B vitamins are essential for the generation of cell energy as ATP in mitochondria.*
LUTEOLIN found in Qualia Senolytic, is a yellow plant pigment used for centuries as a yellow dye. In fact, the latin name for yellow is luteus. Luteolin has a very similar molecular structure to quercetin, and much like fisetin, luteolin has also shown evidence of senolytic properties by helping the body manage senescent cell elimination.*
LONGVIDA OPTIMIZED CURCUMIN® EXTRACTis found in Qualia Senolytic. Curcumin is the pigment in turmeric that results in its yellow-orange coloring. PIPERLONGUMINE (FROM PIPER LONGUM ROOT EXTRACT) is an alkaloid found in many species of pepper plant, and found in abundance in the Asian long pepper plant (Piper longum), particularly in its root structure from which we source our piperlongumine. It is the only natural compound known to support a novel mechanism that helps manage senescent cells called oxidation resistance 1 or OXR1.* You can find it in Qualia Senolytic.
OLIVE LEAF EXTRACT Oleuropein (a secoiridoid polyphenol) is found in high amounts within olive leaves. Our particular olive leaf extract is standardized for 40% oleuropein. A 2020 study showed that oleuropein supports the management of senescent chondrocytes—chondrocytes are the cells that create cartilage and support healthy joints (an area of our bodies which commonly experience noticeable negative aging symptoms).* Olive leaf extract is a key ingredient in Qualia Senolytic.
MILK THISTLE FRUIT EXTRACT (found in Qualia Senolytic). The seed-like fruits from milk thistle (Silybum marianum) have been in Mediterranean diets for over 2,000 years. The main active substance in milk thistle is silymarin. Our extract is standardized to 80% silymarin by spectrophotometry, and has potential in playing a complementary role to other ingredients in Qualia Senolytic, particularly the stressed cell support of curcumin.*
SOYBEAN SEED EXTRACT Soybean seeds, like most legumes, contain a type of bioflavonoid called isoflavonoids. Our soybean seed extract is standardized at 40% isoflavones which shows promise as having a complementary role in our overall formulation. Daidzein, for example (an isoflavonoid in our extract) is one of the top four compounds identified as a possible candidate for helping manage some types of senescent cells.* You can find it in Qualia Senolytic.
