Qualia was founded in 2015. It was co-founded by James Schmachtenberger (CEO), Daniel Schmachtenberger, Jordan Greenhall, and Venessa Hall. The founders and leadership team oversee the brand’s direction, with James Schmachtenberger serving as the current CEO.

Yes, Qualia is third-party tested. Qualia is manufactured in USA FDA registered facilities, and all manufacturers have Third Party cGMP certification. Our formulations are also tested and screened for purity/potency, heavy metals, yeast and mold, microbial contaminants, and gluten and verified to be non-GMO. We also test the finished product to further ensure quality during manufacturing.

Qualia Life Sciences fully vets our suppliers to confirm that every ingredient that goes into our products is backed by an official statement about its suitability for vegans or vegetarians, and/or that it does not contain animal-derived ingredients or animal by-products, nor does it require any animal substances in production. Therefore, when we claim that one of our products is vegan or vegetarian, you can be confident that we have confirmed its accuracy. 

Vegan and vegetarian claims are not defined or regulated by the Food and Drug Administration; thus, there is no official definition that is regulated by law. In terms of manufacturing and supply chain, food ingredients, including those in dietary supplements, are declared vegan when they do not contain any substances sourced, derived, or produced from animals or animal by-products such as milk, egg, wool, honey, etc. Within the consumer goods industry, foods or supplements with a vegetarian claim imply "ovo-lacto" vegetarian, meaning that they may include dairy, eggs, and/or bee products, although in the broader culture vegetarianism may restrict one of these ingredients. As a result, a dietary supplement may accurately claim to be vegan or vegetarian when 100% of the ingredients meet the generally accepted criteria listed above. While these definitions may differ from the broader scope adopted by vegan or vegetarian organizations and/or certifiers to exclude animal-testing, we believe the general consumer consensus agrees with the industry definition.
