Lion’s Mane

RealLionsMane™ is a concentrated Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus) mushroom extract. Lion’s Mane is one of the most popular nootropics because of its reported benefits for supporting nerve and brain health. Its effects include supporting healthy brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) function, dendrite growth, myelination, and neuroprotective mechanisms, therefore upholding healthy brain structure and general brain health.* Hericenones and erinacines are the two important classes of constituents isolated from the fruiting body and mycelium of H. erinaceus, respectively.

QUALIA’S LION’S MANE SOURCING

RealLionsMane™ is an Organic Lion's Mane Mushroom Extract made from the fruiting bodies. It is an 8:1 extract—8 parts of the mushroom fruiting bodies are needed to make 1 part of the extract—that contains 15% beta-(1,3)(1,6)-glucan.

RealLionsMane™ is an organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, vegan, and Kosher certified ingredient.

RealLionsMane™ is a trademark of North American Reishi Ltd.

LION’S MANE FORMULATING PRINCIPLES AND RATIONALE

Lion’s Mane is supplemented in a wide range of serving sizes in studies and in persons using it for cognitive support. These amounts can be as little as 100 mg and as high as several grams. The amount used in a formulation can be influenced by whether a supplement contains the fruiting body or mycelium; whether the Lion’s Mane has been concentrated in an extraction process or is a mushroom powder; and whether it's being used alone or combined with other ingredients. The extract we use in Qualia Mind is an 8:1 concentrated extract, with 125 mg of this extract made from 1 gram of Lion’s Mane fruiting bodies. We think of this amount of Lion’s Mane as being supportive of  general brain health and complementary with the other ingredients in Qualia Mind.*
