Ovomet® Eggshell Membrane

Ovomet® is a clinically studied eggshell membrane extract made from upcycled eggs. Eggshell membrane is primarily composed of collagen (types I, V & X) and elastin, along with smaller amounts of glycosaminoglycans, such as dermatan sulfate and chondroitin sulfate, sulfated glycoproteins such as glucosamine, hyaluronic acid, sialic acid, desmosine and isodesmosine, ovotransferrin, lysyl oxidase, lysozyme, and β-N-acetylglucosaminidase. Ovomet® is a natural source of molecules that support healthy joints and tendons, particularly collagen, chondroitin sulfate, glucosamine, and hyaluronic acid. Ovomet® is a vegetarian source of undenatured or native collagen, which means it retains its biologically active form and has not been modified or denatured during the manufacturing process. Most collagen products are denatured: they are either hydrolyzed collagen or collagen peptides, both of which are collagen that has been broken down into smaller molecules. Ovomet® is also sold as Ovoderm®: these are the exact same eggshell membrane ingredients named differently, with Ovomet® marketed for joint and tendon support and Ovoderm® for “beauty from within” skin health support.*
