TamaFlex® is a patented blend of Tamarind Seed and Turmeric Rhizome Extracts. Tamarind (Tamarindus indica) is a leguminous tree native that grows in tropical, warm climates in Africa (from where it’s native), South Asia, and Central America. Tamarind fruit is a pod-like legume bearing seeds that are rich in bioactive compounds, particularly proanthocyanidins such as apigenin, catechin, procyanidin B2, epicatechin, as well as other polyphenols, triterpenes, glycosides, polysaccharides, fatty acids, and minerals. Turmeric (Curcuma longa rhizome) is a plant in the ginger family. Turmeric is rich in a type of polyphenols called curcuminoids, particularly curcumin, which is the pigment that gives turmeric its characteristic yellow-orange color. Turmeric is widely used as a food spice, especially in South Asia, and has been used in Ayurvedic tradition for thousands of years.*

In 3 human studies, Tamaflex® has been supplemented at 250 mg. In one of these 3 studies [1], a 250 mg and 400 mg serving size were compared for supporting joint health and mobility. Both amounts performed similarly over the first few weeks and, while the larger serving size performed somewhat better over a few months, many of the functional benefits were observed with the 250 mg amount. We use a 250 mg serving size to match the amount that has been most consistently supplemented in human studies.*
