During the development of Qualia Joint Health, we put our newest health product to the test to find out how users would respond. This is what we did and found out.
HOW THE PILOT STUDY WORKED
As part of the development of Qualia Joint Health, two different formulas—labeled as A and B during development—were created and sent to 44 participants who had volunteered for the study, with 22 receiving formula A and 22 receiving B.
Participants were sent a four-week supply of either formula A or B, with instructions to take two capsules each day in the morning with or without food. All participants reported the types of occasional stiffness or discomfort in their knees or low back prior to beginning that can impact many adults.
Prior to beginning supplementation, and after taking the test products for four weeks, participants completed two health-related questionnaires: (1) a joint health questionnaire that asked questions related to mobility, flexibility, comfort, etc., and (2) a questionnaire designed to have participants rate how occasional stiffness or discomfort in their knees or low back impacted their life.*
In both questionnaires, formula A clearly outperformed formula B,†* and is what was launched as Qualia Joint Health. The results from the participants who took Qualia Joint Health (formula A) are reported below.
RESULT HIGHLIGHTS
Qualia Joint Health Supported More Comfortable Movement (Mobility), Flexibility, and Joint Function†*
Thirteen of the 22 participants completed the study, taking Qualia Joint Health for four weeks, and completing baseline and final joint health questionnaires. All thirteen participants had improved scores at the end of the study compared to before taking the supplement. The average improvement in scores was 58% after four weeks.†*
One of the areas assessed was routine activities of daily living—bending over, getting up from sitting or into and out of things, household tasks, and walking. These can become less comfortable to perform as we age. And, it is common to encounter occasional challenges in some of these areas. These types of activities are at the center of healthy physical function and what’s meant by the idea of maintaining healthy mobility. Compared to their baseline scores, Qualia Joint Health produced an average of 61% improvement in scores related to being able to comfortably perform a variety of activities of daily living.†*
Another area assessed was flexibility. It’s common to experience some degree of loss of flexibility as we get older. We may feel a bit stiffer in the morning, at other times during the day, or when we are performing routine activities. The average improvement in flexibility scores for the group of participants was 49%.†*
Qualia Joint Health Offered Support for Living a More Comfortable Life†*
Thirteen participants also completed the baseline and final questionnaires that asked questions related to how occasional stiffness or discomfort in knees or low back impacted the ability to be comfortable throughout the day in a variety of activities, and their ability to stay active and sleep well. The average improvement in scores was 66% after four weeks.†*
Qualia Joint Health was Well-Liked†*
One week after completing the study, participants who had taken Qualia Joint Health for four weeks were asked to describe their overall experience. Thirteen participants responded to this survey. Answer choices were “Excellent,” “Good,” “No Effect,” “Poor,” and “Very Poor.” Eighty-six percent of participants who took Qualia Joint Health for four weeks described their experience as excellent or good. The average rating on a scale of 1-5 stars was 4.00.††*†Disclaimer: Although these results are highly encouraging, they are not statistically significant and the study was not placebo-controlled. Larger, controlled studies will be required to confirm the findings.
††Disclaimer: The survey contained a small number of participants who received the product for free.
